Generating Wind Power Alternative
So I found this concept rummaging through some of my dad’s Popular Sciences. It was done by a student at Arizona State University. The overpass mounted turbines spin using the air being pushed aside by passing cars and is believed to create enough energy to power a small house. For how long was unclear. I admire the innovated thinking involved but the article judged it harshly. They felt the aesthetics weren’t integrated to it’s environment, but then again neither is smog.
What I found brilliant and some what ironic about the concept was that it works off the highway infrastructure. An infrastructure that was designed to make Americans dependent on cars and in turn dependent on foreign oil. Imagine if the answer to our energy crisis relied not on people driving less but on people driving more.

Top 50 Hip Hop Songs of 2008
# 1 Wale The Kramer
2008 was a year where the United States reflected on the resinating effects of it’s initial sin of slavery and the internal conflict with racial equality that presently exist. Obliviously this was largely due to the presidential elections. It seems only fitting to see the number one Hip Hop song of 2008 be Wale’s “The Kramer”. A song in reaction to Michael Richard’s careless 2006 rant where he used the N-Word during a stand-up show plus the scaring personal effects the word had on the artist growing up in North Carolina. This list was compiled by Jeff Weiss, a long time contributing writer/journalist to publications like the LA Times, LA Weekly, and the Village Voice.
Below is the link to his blog where you can download the entire list.
