Believin’ Tee

I forgot about this.  I though of it after seeing Religulous. Thanks Mr. Maher.

Try 3

I spent a little more time on this one. I’m starting to like the proportions more but I still need to push it a bit further.  I like this lighter, more airy rendering style.  I’m going to see where I can take it in the next round.

Branding for Dislocados

For my brand management class we’re working with an INSEAD MBA who’s the singer for a Ukrainian salsa band called Dislocados (well for now). For the project two other Art Center students and I are developing a new brand image for the group.  Here’s the first image board I’ve created. They’re looking for a new feel with traces of the past.

World Water Day 2009

MARCH 22, 2009

A day late on this…

I found this through my Dad’s cousins who’s a volunteer doctor for MSF. He’s also the person I’ve been working close with on my last two projects (vial container & latrine).

The day is intended to spotlight how many people in this world that still lack the basic necessity for clean drinking water.  Fortunately some successful things are being done. For instance in Indonesia bottles of a water treatment solution made of sodium hydrochloride are being given out. This solution reduces the likelihood of diarrheal diseases by 85%. It’s cheap and effective.

The Prophet

BY KAHLIL GIBRAN

prophetWith the schedule here in INSEAD I forgot to add this book I finished reading on the flight over to France. My mom gave it to me for Christmas and insisted I read it right away. I have to admit I was a little skeptical to read it, mostly because I presumed it had something to do with religion.

The author Kahlil Gibran was a Lebanese-American artist, philosopher, and writer. Through a fictional story the protagonist The Prophet speaks on the human condition and offers advice on life’s issues in short chapters for each topic. Like I said, even with some biblical over tones I found the teachings relatively unbound from religion and actually extremely insightful. I especially like what was said on relationships and love.

I think a lot of people would enjoy this book.  Either way it’s a 90 page book so you’ll only spend a couple of hours on it.
